Deficiency in zinc has been associated with increased intestinal permeability, and clinical research suggests that zinc supplementation may help restore tight junction integrity in some individuals. Realistic Expectations: What Gut Healing Actually Looks Like
Healing the gut lining is not a quick fix. Most people who experience meaningful improvement do so gradually, over weeks or months, not days.
Some will notice changes fairly quickly after eliminating certain foods. Others will feel worse before they feel better as the gut microbiome shifts. That is normal. It does not mean the approach is not working.
